St. Anthony’s Catholic High School, Ilesa, Osun has a well-equipped and well furnished typing pool. This is to aid effective teaching of keyboarding in the school guided by certified instructors.
Typewriting as a subject is offered in the junior classes. Students are divided into various groups and a group of students is allowed to use the typewriters at a particular period of time so as to facilitate efficient use of the typewriters and to disallow congestion in the typing pool.
Learning typewriting help the students on how to type on the keyboard quickly, accurately, and with correct technique which makes students become competent typists. The typing pool has contributed to improved and better performance in the NECO exams for JSS 3 students.
Thus, the foundational structures for students lives are formed and subsequent studies develop on this.
